Dassel Area Historical Society
"Preserving the Past; Enriching the Present; Securing the Future"
The Universal Laboratories building is on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as the home of the Dassel Area Historical Society. Many community groups also make use of the museum's ample space for meetings and events. |
From 1937 to the mid 1970s, Universal Laboratories provided raw ergot from the grain fields of the western US and Canada to pharmaceutical companies. Critical drugs were produced from the ergot, saving countless military and civilian lives. |
