Minnehaha Mandskor Male Chorus

The Minnehaha Mandskor male chorus will be in concert at the Dassel History Center on Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m. Hans Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD, is a member of the chorus. Peterson is a 1970 graduate of Cokato High School. The Minnehaha Mandskor is the oldest Norwegian chorus in South Dakota.  The name comes from the Norwegian words, MAND meaning man and KOR meaning chorus.  Minnehaha is the county in southeast South Dakota in which the founding members reside.  The chorus was formed in 1890 as a member of the “Norwegian Singers Association of America.”

Sponsored by the Dassel Area Historical Society the Minnehaha Mandskor program includes a variety of music including traditional Norwegian songs. There is no admission charge.
