Research

DAHS continues to build our research collection. It chronicles the cities of Dassel, Kingston and Darwin and the townships of Kingston, Dassel, Darwin, Ellsworth and Collinwood.

To date our research collection includes these and other items:

  • A detailed index of the Dassel newspapers dating back to 1893. The newspapers are on microfilm as well as in the original form. This is the centerpiece of our collection.
  • Printed census records for Meeker County and/or the local townships for the years from 1860 to 1900.
  • A collection of Meeker County Plat Maps (indexed)
  • An obituary index
  • A photographic collection of the people and places within our area
  • Published histories of Meeker County (indexed)
  • Church and school records and histories (most indexed)
  • Printed family histories contributed by our members and friends
  • Family history files that have been assembled by our staff and by DAHS correspondents
  • Chronological index of a wide variety of community entities, such as businesses, organizations, sports teams, politics and many others
  • A published, two-volume set of all Meeker County cemetery records. It includes abandoned pioneer cemeteries (indexed)
  • Queries are welcomed by our research staff. Contact the DAHS via telephone, snail mail, email or visit for details.
